A handsome cassette reissue of this album, originally put out in April 2012…

“This release is inspired by the Blackpool seafront…specifically the sights and sounds I took in during lonesome dusktime strolls along it in the late springs and early summers of years gone by…

All the sounds on this album were recorded in April 2012, except for the electric guitars on “Ghost Waves of River Dolphins”, which were recorded in October 2003 and the electric guitars and acoustic piano on “Skeletons Shudder Beneath a Busted Umbrella”, which were recorded in May 2004 and May 2005 respectively”

Yellow C50 cassette in a clear case with full colour artwork and tape labels, plus an insert.

“Following weeks of hill climbing and pudding boiling, there they were- draped and dripping, but far too quiet…all things need a soundtrack- just ask the llama!! Within days I had the means…the drive…the spunk…the vision…then NIHIL…sand clogged up most everything- sand in yer soup, sand in yer sundae, sand up yer fucking skirts…vacuum packed and put on ice ’til Bigfoot…I bounced with fake tits to the finish…I snapped ‘tween spectrums…the shape may have shifted, but the heart remained pure…”

All pieces originally released within the “Skirts: Pure Electronic Works 2012 – 2015” box set in 2015.

* THE GOLDEN GONK – “FOUR WEDGES OF CAKE” REISSUE CASSETTE OUT NOW ON DUBBING MORE FUCKING RUBBISH TAPES *

The Golden Gonk – “Four Wedges of Cake” (Dubbing More Fucking Rubbish Tapes, DMFR038) – £5.00 (not including shipping)

A1) Cheap Whispers & Chinese Vodka (11:12)
A2) Further Bright Emissions (15:57)
B1) Penetration…Beyond the Veil of the Flesh (13:02)
B2) Leon’s Theme 2010 (11:04)

“The first piece was recorded live in Preston some time during spring 2004 and features not only THE GONK in action, but Dave and Phil too!! It was rediscovered in my archives in early 2011. The second piece was put together using the leftover material from the sessions for FREE GONK volume 4 (“Bright Emissions From the Weapons Room”), so expect sombre organs, spacey echoed guitars and looped vocals galore on this ‘un!! Plus some other stuff that I’ve forgotten about!! The third piece was created in early spring 2011 during the sessions for “Irdischen Meditationen über Horror und Porno”. The fourth piece is a sort of psychedelic minimalist techno noise drone reworking of a ‘theme tune’ I ‘composed’ (on a balalaika, natch) at some point in between 2003-2005 for our old uni technician, Leon- the reworking was recorded/mixed and all that malarky one day in late summer 2010…”

Brown C60 cassette in a clear case with full colour artwork and tape labels, plus an insert.

This is sold out at source, but I have a small number of artist copies in hand, so please get in touch/click on the appropriate link/visit your preferred online auction site to secure a copy of your own (HINT: it works out much cheaper to just buy from me directly)!!

Much gratitude to Squirrel at DMFR for putting out this fine looking reissue!!

Thanks as always to the dedicated few that supported Shack in the Barley Productions through another fraught, crappy year.

As you can see from the lack of updates and the minimal amount of releases, I’ve been taking things a lot easier of late- hopefully I’ll get my mojo working a bit more in 2022 and put out some cool stuff, but until then, take care!!
